Blurstractions

Blurstraction is a term Kort coined to describe abstract images captured photographically by moving the camera intentionally while the shutter is open. In low light conditions and with longer shutter speeds, interesting effects can be obtained.  Digital cameras are well suited for this type of exercise, especially prosumer digicams. Images produced can range from surreal landscapes to abstract light paintings.  The element of chance makes for unique captures; enabling the viewer to interpret the image as they see it rather than relying on traditional representations.
